First Steps

This guide will cover the initial steps to help us get Slingshot configured, up and running for your show.

1. Add Slingshot accounts

Depending on which integrations you plan to use, you will need to grant Slingshot's accounts access to your various services.

Autodesk Flow (Shotgrid)

  • Add [email protected] as a site admin.1
  • Let us know the url of your site (e.g. https://yourstudio.shotgrid.autodesk.com)

File Storage / Transfer Services

We support multiple file storage and transfer services. Please provide us access to the ones you plan to use:

IBM Aspera on Cloud

  • Add [email protected] to your workspace1
  • Let us know the name of your organization and workspace
Packages vs Files

Aspera on Cloud has two different apps: Files and Packages.

Files is a Dropbox-like shared file storage system, while Packages is a transfer service for sending large batches of files directly to recipients.

Slingshot can detect and process packages that are CCed to our Aspera client account (either directly or via an alias), or uploaded to a shared inbox we are given access to.

Slingshot can copy files from a package into files shared folders if we are given access to them.

Depending on the Studio and the access they provide us, we may also be able to detect files uploaded directly to Files shares.

  • Add [email protected] to your filespace
  • Let us know the name of your filespace and workspace, the storage backend (usually AWS), and region (e.g. us-west-2 or us-east-1)

Maxlo

  • Add an App named slingshot and let us know the Secret Key

Amazon S3

  • Please reach out to us directly, as we will need to work with the studio's AWS admin to set up access.

2. Onboarding form

We customize each instance of Slingshot to your exact requirements. To facilitate this, we have an Onboarding Form to fill out with your show details and requirements so we can build out your configuration. Please fill it out at your convenience.
